possible causes for clutch pedal pressure lost?

This happened two days ago and I doubt my clutch went out already..I have exedy stage 2 clutch and about 20k miles on it..I don't beat the car or race the car..I pretty much baby it...I was driving back on the highway and everything was normal then all the sudden my clutch pedal went to the floor..normally its pretty stiff and now it takes no effort to push it down...it still enegages but only at the very bottom of clutch travel but again..there is resistance or pressure on the clutch...I can push pedal down with one finger and its that light...any ideas???? It seem to enage fine but I don't know when its going to grab since there is no pressure at the pedal

if your clutch peddle hit the floor then you have a hydraulic issue of some kind... have you checked the brake/clutch fluid? I would start there.. also look at clutch master and make sure there is no fluid leaking in this area.. after that check the lines..

You might have pulled the retainer clip out. It sounds odd that you can still engage the clutch though, but exedys have been known for this issue. They sell fixes for it now, but it is still an issue that happens on rare occasions. It sounds odd that it just happened all of a sudden though, and not when you were getting on the car...

Not a stage 2, but it talks about it a little.

The pressure you feel at the pedal is the actual pressure of the pressure plate fingers. So, if you feel nothing, it is disconnected.

I did think about retainer clip popping out because it happened before on my stock clutch..i lost all pedal pressure and pedal just drops straight to the floor when i tap on it and it wont enage or car go in gear at all..but this time car still engages and still goes in gear..still drives like its fine and pedal returns to rest position when i step on it but there is just no effort on pushing it down at all til the very bottom when it enages...last time when retainer clip popped out..it also bent my slave cylinder rod 90 degrees and i havent had to chance to visually check everything but there is good amount of grease or oil around the slave cylinder area.....if the retainer clip popped out then i know its not a simple fix but it doesnt seem like the case when car still engages and goes in gear and drives

Well, then, the only thing I can think of is maybe a piece of the clutch friction material has come off and wedged between the pressure plate and the disk. That might cause the symptoms you describe.

This happened to a friend of mine. It was due to the tob coming off the pressure plate. I would jack the car up and pull the rubber plug and take a peek inside.

9 times out of 10 this is your clutch master cylinder.

edit for add: Not sure about Evos, but on DSMs a new aftermarket part is ~80-120 bucks and takes about an hour or two to install and bleed the system.

Just did it tonight...took 45 minutes. Install a new clutch master cylinder (right below the intake with the two bolts)...then feed more brake fluid in while you bleed the system by pumping the clutch pedal. Good luck!

thanks for the offer man. i rather get a new one..cost me bout 30 dollars... but anyway..i figured out what happened.... the lower radiator hose somehow was hitting againest the rubber boot of slave cylinder...so everytime i push down the clutch..the rod rubs against radiator hose...the rubber boot is half gone and the slave cylidner push rod is just hanging to the side
