If you're worried about sound too much, you can try getting a cat to see if it'll be more quiet. Even with a cat, you still get air flow restriction. Or you can do what one of the guys around here did. He installed 2 Magnaflows on his exhaust. Otherwise, a resonator would be your best bet if you still want the performance to stay somewhat the same with idle sound to be more quiet then a catless.
ThanX a lot my dear! you were very help Originally Posted by Piro Fyre

Someone commented on getting pulled over for the Blitz but TBH, I don't know. I'm planning on getting an Apexi N1 from someone but because of my recent problems, it will have to be delayed.
Here's user reviews for Apexi N1.

Dude go Apexi N1. You can even get a black on like I have so its not so "flashy". Also the N1 has a great tone and not to loud till you WOT. Then it is ***** to the wall
Get a external dump but I would not get the MAPthingy. They have not had the best review. The external dump will give you more hp over a recirculated and allow for better boost control. At least 15+hp and you will hold another 2-3psi at redline. The thing about dumps is you don't hear them till they crack open. I have the 18psi act in my car at it cracks open at 20psi. You will never hear it unless you are racing then if you get pulled over by a cop your going to get a speeding ticket, not an exhaust ticket. jmo but you can do what you want. I will never go recirc again. Infact we may be making a 3.5in 02 housing with a 2.5in dump tube and a 3.5in exhaust system soon.
That will be nasty on a Black

Try looking into the Apexi GT-Spec as well. Full polished stainless steel and it goes from 3" to 3.5". I believe the N-1 is aluminized steel with some coating on it. Plus, Gruppe-S is selling GT-Spec's for $500 shipped.
I have the GT-Spec on my car and with a test pipe its rather loud at WOT, but with a cat it was toned down a bit.

The OP is not looking for something to loud and the N1 is quiter under cruise than the GT anyday and the GT is louder all around... bad choice. And who wants to run a "plug = cat" in the exhaust line and lose 20+ hp and have slower spool just to keep a loud exhaust quiet? no one.Originally Posted by Corey

ThanX Mikey,
Ok, now, If I got the N1, what parts do I have to get to complete a full TBE?? Currently I have the Invidia 3'' testpipe laying back on the table

I'm leaning more toward the External dump, but i TOTALLY have no idea what company makes best parts!!
Im looking for a full 3" setup!

I have the Apexi N1 and it's very tame for an exhaust. But if your interested the Apexi WS is actually quieter. I have a clip of the N1 at idle and 2 step. Excuse me giving the camera the finger. Oh yeah that video was taken when my idle was high 1200 to be exact, now I have it low 980. Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dymr0Ey0tvE

It is relatively quiet compared to most. It has quite a large resonator in it still. Power performance is just as good, but keeps it low key. I'm very happy with my choice of the N1

The N1 on my car sounds like a deep desial truck at low rpms and at low boost less than 5psi... I don't know if anyone else's sounds like this but it is SICK! Mikey

If you want a quiet exhaust, then look for Fujitsubo. I think its the quiest exhaust I have heard in person. and it performs very well.

That is a very good question I have noticed that the exhaust tone has changed at least several times. When it was just a cat back it was super quiet, when I put on the DC Sport SP got a bit more sound to it but still very tame, when I changed the o2 housing a bit louder but still tame WOT though was something new and fun....I love the tone of hearing the WG open, when I installed the HKS 272's ok this was the sounds I was looking for mix of tame and loud if that makes senseOriginally Posted by NitrousOxide

. Since then I have changed my setup as you see in my sig. I think all the port work I have done on the exhaust side and the larger o2 dump plays a role in the new tone to the exhaust. I will try and see if I can take some video tomorrow of my new lower idle when I get to workEvolved Member
