I probably had one of the first Tilton carbon/carbon clutches in my Evo. I loved the clutch, feels great, holds power, etc... Until it comes to having it rebuilt or customer service. Now, I'm typically not the one to talk trash as I am about to however, Tilton's service for Evo drivers absolutely blows! I have about $10K alone in the Tilton that "was" in my car from rebuilds, shims, etc... I tried calling a Tilton rep to see if there "might" be a possibility in building a triple (that I would have commissioned out of my pocket), or maybe not hammering me so bad on the rebuild... I received no call back, not even a response. There might have been a possibility I could have at the very least given them some data to help them progress and make a better clutch for us. Or some feedback good/bad, it's all worth knowing being a supposed "world class company" My last rebuild ($1800) only lasted me ~200 miles and 3 passes! How is that possible? I don't daily drive it, my tune never changed (IE. making the same power), the driver hasn't changed (IE. Me) and I trailer my car to the track. I just don't understand and yet Tilton has no answer for me either. They didn't even acknowledge that they at the very least heard my story. Regardless, they lost a very good customer. Exedy now has my business, they actually care about ALL of their customers and not just NASCAR and Supras. Take a lesson in customer service folks, you really need it.

None at all brother.
I have stayed away from this place to avoid drama and I'm glad I know little of the beef you speak of.
This incident however needed some attention.
BTW: You spelled Buschur wrong in your sig....

Some things are way more valuable then money.
Id be pissed too. Its the principle of bad customer service that would have me reeling too.
I dunno, maybe its a GA thing

I have seen some bad feedback from Tilton Lately.. I dont know why.. Usually i can tell when i pull my clutches if i am going to get raped dry or with lube.. Ive done some damage to clutches that have cost 2k to rebuild and some i have seen 300 or so rebuilds.. Most wanted used his 1 clutch for the whole season on several setups without an issue..
I dont know if daily driving for 200 miles can kill or what since all my cars with tiltons usually were track only or light driving 10 miles to a race spot or something and back.. Sorry to hear of your trouble.. Unfortunately though nothing shifts as good as Tilton IMO.. That is when its working and when you can afford to have it fixed when it isnt.. LOL

I've had the same issues with Tilton. I got a twin Cera-metallic and it took almost a 2 months to get the clutch back. And the rebuild was 925 dollars! I and it only lasted 9 months. I'm tired of these fancy clutches... I want something simple. Any suggestions
Man, I think I might be one of the very very few that is using my Tilton as a daily...
Exedy. The triple can hold a ton of power and at around 2k is a good deal. I personally find the triple easier to drive than the twin so for most people running a bigger turbo than stock I'd recommend going straight to the triple.
That's just it. I only drove the car to race spots very late at night with no traffic. I would never take the car out into stop-and-go traffic because that is how I destroyed my first Tilton...LOL I wasn't ready for the traffic, moving from Michigan to Georgia, and I got caught a couple times and it was a wrap.

+1 on the Exedy Triple.
I've had a Cusco Twin (Exedy Twin Rebranded) that lasted 10,000's of miles, Exedy Twin HD that lasted several thousands of miles, then converted the Twin HD to a Triple only because I didnt want to drop the transmission again for a LONG time. Best decision I ever made with the clutch. It holds well, drives flawless once your used to driving a multiplate clutch and I've done over 5,000 miles on it without a incling of an issue. Great clutch and if you are going to make anything decent in HP go straight to the Triple.
On another note I have a friend that put a hair over 50,000 miles on a Exedy Twin HD before it finally needed rebuilt. He converted it to a Triple as well. Note this car ran 28 to 32psi of boost (mid to upper 500hp to possible right at 600hp) daily driven and ran HARD on the Twin for a few years!
