I hadn't noticed the divisory wall being rounded. Good call, TTP. Toss it and get a new one.

WOW what a mess.

the divided part is extremely messed up. one runner will definitely leak into the other which is not good at all. IMO do not put this on your car. use it as a what not to do on your next port job. that thing is a mess.

I would have the surface decked if it is possible.

The first thing to do on your next porting job is to use a new factory gasket as a template. Line up the gasket on the boltholes. Blue and Scribe the ports, or use a pointed sharpie.

I learned this the hard way: Tape-off the inlet edges because one tends to rest the rotating tool's shaft on these edges while grinding. This is especially true of the divisory wall edges. The grinding bit's spinning shaft resting on the divisory wall edges will tend to wear these edges down without your noticing.

Feathering out to the scribe line should be left for the very last stage of your porting job.

Looking at all these replies I think you will need to buy a new O2 housing and try porting it again. I don't blame you. It's good that you don't take the replies too personal rather as a guide to help you improved next time around.

So, you would try to salvage it? Probably it would need a 3/16" cut at least.

I dont believe salvage is recommended in this case. Great initiative, but look at the pic someone posted earlier.. you can see that you shimmed too much in the twin scroll portion on the inner wall. might not leak with gasket in place, but why use it if not necessary. You can find one for $30-$50. Start over and take the recommendations mentioned earlier

Very cleanly done turbine inlets as pictured in post #29 of this thread! Incidentally, who did the porting? Kudos, and hats off! Nice work!

well thanx for all the comments guys BUT honestly the pic does not do as much justice because the part where it looks like there is a chunk taken off, IT'S not that bad honestly, and when i put the OEM gasket on (the metal one) the hot side set flash and after i installed it the other day i have not noticed any leak whatsoever and thats at stock boost since the car is not tuned yet....sooo will see how long this will last, ill update later on that.

If the gasket is exposed to exhaust gases it will be eaten up. If there is no where for it to go out it will be pulled in to the turbo. Good luck.

I don't know how people are saying this is a good port job...

It looks terrible. I mean that in the best of ways. It just looks terrible. That is not porting. You ruined that turbine housing.

Additional turbulence is one concreen , the other is if this part of the gasket breaks because it is not sealed. Not sealed means it is flapping and could break and go Directly into your turbo.

This was just learning experience. Remember to let the tools remove the material. Do not force them or apply tons of pressure. Take ur time. Its take the right touch that just takes time to get prefect. What tools are you using?

Everyone has to start somewhere. I give you props for at least trying to do it yourself. I'm sure your next port job will be much better.
