Boost problems
Boost problems
First off mods on the car are tbe, and drop in air filter. Since I've bought the car it's only been boosting about .7 (10psi) on the stock gauge. Boost leak tested and had acouple one being the tb shaft seals. Fixed all the leaks then the stock bov (05 MR) starts to leak. So I buy a evo IX bov and tb shaft seals.
The seals are still leaking. Boost hits .7 (10psi) no more no less. Shaft seals leaking shouldn't be holding me back from hitting over 1.0 (14.5psi).
Hooked up a mbc, and was able to boost it up to 1.2 (17.5psi) and drops to 1.1 (16psi)~.
What else do I need to be looking into?
Stock levels are around 1.4 (20psi) falling to ~1.2 (17.5psi) correct??
I'm just trying to get everything up and running like it should. Any help advice is greatly appreciated.

What kind of MBC did you get? The Hallman comes with a light spring installed that will max out around 16 psi. There is a heavier spring in the box to install to go above that.
And do a boost leak test.

The seals on the throttle body aren't leaking very badly, just enough to make it noticeable by the small hiss and bring the pressure down gradually. My bro-in-law (Pete) and I have checked along intercooler, the pipes and everything else, and we can't find any leaks other than the seals.
The MBC isn't the problem either. It's brought the boost level UP (obviously
). Before it was put on, the car would only boost about 10-11 PSI. Like stated before, it didn't spike to a higher PSI and then fall to 10-11, it boosted to 10-11 and stayed there. Also like has been said before, based upon the small amount of leaking at the seals on the throttle body, we're thinking that they shouldn't be the reason the car is boosting so low.

Sounds like your boost lines on the stock solenoid weren't hooked up right and you were running wastegate pressure.
Throw in the heavy spring on the hallman and increase boost to stock level.

I just searched on boost solenoid and it sounds like thats what was going on. The line from the wga and compressor where T'd together, then ran to the boost solenoid. The other line from the solenoid wasconnected to the air intake. Don't know if that's correct or if maybe the lines where switched around on the solenoid.
mbc i'm using is and old one I had lying around by turbonetics http://www.agpturbo.com/product.php?...cat=284&page=1
Also I didn't max out the boost controller, just wanted to see if I could get it over 10psi.
Just turn it up to 20 psi and I should be good correct?? I don't have a afr gauge and want to make sure I don 't lean it out.
Thanks for the help. I was leaning towards the wga as the problem, but the car only has 31k miles. Figured they'd last longer then that.
