Has anyone tried the Motul PA90 ?

There are three gear boxes that need oil; the transmission, transfer case and rear differential . The rear diff and transfer case can use the same oil. The transmission uses different oil. Of the three, the transfer case is the most picky about what oil it gets (unless you have a six speed tranny - then maybe it is the tranny).

 

if i get amsoil severe gear 75w-90 for diffs do i need to add lsd additive ?

Me and most of friends of mine use Motul Gear300 75W90 for the transmission and Motul Gear FF Competition 75W140 for transfer case and rear differential. Haven't heard any bad things about them.

My car so far made 15k miles on them and everything is fine. Talking about EDM EvoIX with 6MT and ACD and AYC.

 

Why 75w140 and not 75w90 for the transfer case and diff?

 

You're the second guy I've seen use the Motul Gear FF Competition 75W140. I don't know if you're going to be changing the fluids soon, but I'd be curious to see what the magnetic drain plug looks like. Also, if you notice that the transfer case fluid, specifically has a noxious odor to it. Thanks. So far I've been using the Motul PA90 with no ill effects, of course I'll be changing the fluid in another couple thousand miles to get a much better read on it...
