The best way to get a hold of Tuning Technologies is to call them and ask for Alfred at (909) 783-1200... They only have a total of 4-5 people working at the shop so bear with them...

their website is not the best (splash page) and is really only a means to find contact information...

Tuning Tech has been around a long time and really are a stand up shop, putting out great road course cars and supporting the southern California Evo community quite a bit. They dont post on forums to much but they do have a really great customer base and will answer any and all questions you may throw at 'em...

Like I said before your best bet would be to call them at (909) 783-1200 and speak to 'em as a PM wont get you to far...

Per Alfred from Tuning Technologies:

As some of you may remember we posted a while back that we were working on our own stock based Evo IX and X turbo conversions. We have been testing this turbo for about 2 months now on the dyno and running it on a couple customer cars to ensure long-term reliability and performance. Yesterday I tuned one of these on a EVO IX with the following modifications:

TTech 600 turbo
TBE
Ported exhaust manifold
Kelford 272 camshafts
Supertech single high tension springs
Ported Turbine housing
Invidia O2Housing
RC1000cc Injectors
Synapse BOV
ETS Intercooler piping
AMS intercooler
Perrin intak tube and filter
Prodrive 3 port boost solenoid
Aquamist HFS-1 Methanol kit

We are very happy with the results so far. We achieve 20.09lbs. of boost by 3752 rpm and hit our target peak boost of 27psi by 4100 rpm. This tune was achieved using 91 octane and Methanol injection.

This setup can easily hit 500+whp if we crank up the boost some more but for right now the customer is happy with where its at for the street. We will be retuning this vehicle for max power once we change out the 3 port boost solenoid and wastegate actuator to a higher base spring pressure. I really think we can improve spoolup from where its at now; hopefully getting it down another 100 rpm or so.

Pricing for this turbo is as follows:

Upgrade Price (*Using your existing Evo IX turbo. Compressor and Inconel Turbine wheel upgrade) $1050
*Core must be in good condition. Damaged units do not qualify

Outright Purchase Price (New turbo core. Compressor and Inconel Turbine wheel upgrade) $1550

Lead times for upgrading or purchasing the turbo are at 5 days or less as of 10-22-09. PM us with any questions and thank you for looking!

Alfred

Especially when multiple FP turbos have been failing at the track. Wonder how these "reputable" companies are building their turbos.....warranty or not.

There are a number of reasons that turbos fail, at the track or otherwise. At a road course, a journal bearing turbo can fail, just like a journal bearing motor, if sustained G forces keep it from being properly oiled. Journal bearing turbos can fail from overspinning them. The list goes on to include a number of circumstances that are owner error.

The difference is simple for me -- when you have a failure, it's important to have a manufacturer who stands behind their products, and who is nearby, not in Taiwan, China, or Mexico.

Albert may be a great guy, but he doesn't build the turbos. Since they're obviously built by someone else, the question is where they are built, what their tolerances are, and what their warranty is if they have teething problems.
