HP doesnt mean ****. As I was trying to post in my original post. If you now how to drive, you will only need tbe/cams/fp/and a good tune. If you know how to drive (like you stole it) then you could hit 11.47-11.6's all day long.

If your looking to beat him from a dig you may have some options, but dont under estimate a z06 from a roll and dont go by the mph they run at the track, they normally show a poor 60ft and the resulting lower mph at the tail end.Typically a Z06 that traps 125-128 have beat up on turbo 4cyl cars that have run in the 130s from roll races.Instant power and tq= see ya..

I agree with you on this. ZO6's have hwy gearing, so off a roll they are almost unstoppable. All the ZO6's ive seen in houston, tx. have problems with launching but after that they run very well. I just hope i can take my brothers car and post it on this site and his favorite site LS1tech. After reading all of your posts i am convinced that i need cams. mostly looking at ones with more duration and not too much lift.

Thanks,

You will win up to 160 mph easy..

My buddy had a 30R kit with similar mods, and ran an 11.1 @125 Now, the car did good till about 140 mph, then started to lose steam QUICKLY with Z06's and Cobras..

With the 35R you will surpass his HP, your launch will be NASTY, and the car will PULL HARD for a long time...

Let us know!

cams are neccassary to win. learn to launch
well---problem with that will be your clutch. at the trach you can beat him with a good launch. on the street he'll win until you build the block and push more boost.

How is that clutch doing too? If your dragging him and running your car into the high rpms you might have lockout issues. How has it reacted on the strip thus far? Many people have a fine time with the ACTs but I just drove one this last week and it was a less than fun experience.

He ran an 11.5 @ 125mph in the 1/4 mile. I want to know if the experience EVOM users think i will beat him with THIS setup? I know from reading alot of other threads that tunning has alot to do with it and i feel like i could take care of that because i have a really experience tuner. Please elaborate on yes or no answers. Talk to me.....

setup

Garrett GT35R turbo
tubular manifold
walbro 255 FP, vivid racing fuel rail and 1000cc injectors 93 oct. or E85
AMS innercooler and piping
all exhaust piping 3" all the way to the turbo
38mm tial wastegate
UICP and BOV
ACT HD clutch rated at 650 ft/lbs of torque(new)
STOCK CAMS
EVOSCAN/ECUFLASH

p.s. this is my everyday driver so i didn't want to go with a bigger turbo than this.
Fp red would be a good alternative as you save money and its better for DD.
1000 injectors won't be enough for e85
I'd do double pumper
Kelford 272's or GSC S2's
Tires can make a huge difference in drag racing as well as clutch. ACT would be alright i guess but there are better.

Hell a good driver at low altitude with minor bolt on's and good fuel can run better then 11.5 on stock turbo.

with drag radials, 20g turbo, meth injection,AEM ecu, exedy twinclutch and hks 272 cams i ran 11.4 first pass, sec pass blow the transfer case cause a bad launch. this was with only 400 hp, now with the gsc 272, 35r,forged internals and 100% meth inj. this thing pulls like a train,628 hp 35 psi.still stock head ,throttle and int manifold. you will blow his head off easy if you know to drive.

This man speaks the truth. It will be game over with a 100shot and Drag radials.

PM me, I live in Houston also. I have a FP Red on E85 with high boost. Maybe we can meet up to give you an idea on what it will take to beat a stockish Z06.

My buddy Was trapping 126 on a 35r on straight pump running suuporting mods w/ kelford 272's.

If you Ran race or e85 , It would be game over for the vett. But at that point your going to start to stress the Stock lower end IMO

I doubt he will win easily up to 160mph. Maybe up to 100mph. That 09 Z06 has the power to run high 10's to low 11's driven properly. On the highway the evo will get slaughtered unless he has a good chunk more power. Remember a Z06 has NO turbo lag, has a superior power curve, lighter, better gearing, and superior aerodynamics. A Z06 pulls like a freight train after 100mph as they aren't geared for the 1/4...trust me I have driven them a few times

If it's ONLY 1/4 mile a 35r should be enough...if you can launch it right...most people can't. If he does happen to lose though all he will need is 3 mods to be in the low 10's. Longtube, cam, and drag radials and he will be trapping 135mph or more and have 600whp all day long. They are monsters...they can be beat but then again they are hard to touch once they start slappin the mods on...especially if he grabs spray. Its game over from there unless you plan to spend some big $$$

As a former 35R Evo owner and a current Z06 owner, you had better be on your game over 100 mph against a Z06. The thing is a damn rocket 100-160 mph, only needing to go through 4 gears for that speed. The Evo falls off bad on the 4-5 shift around 125-130 depending on your rev limit. The response of the LS7 is instantaneous, if the race is from a roll, you had better be brake boosting or it'll be over before it started.
