Nearly everybody I know has gone or is going with the B&M Shortshifter. Apparently it is easy to install (20 to 30 minutes) and requires no cutting or any other modification to the car.

The Perrin, on the other hand, does require some cutting to install.

I've been doing the research myself because I want a shortshifter too and this is the same information I gathered. My B&M is on order.

If you are interested in the B&M there is a group-buy going on on this forum and we still need a couple of people. It is going for $135 shipped (cheapest I've found anywhere) through Mark and Kenny at emr-power. Just do a search on this forum for B&M group buy and you'll find it.

Perrin is the ****znit... I installed it and absolutely love the new feel.. I also changed the bushings, and i installed a new shift knob...

Only downfall so far is that the shift knob is a momo with the allen key style locks... It has slipped off twice...

I got the Perrin. Throws are shorter than the B&M and can be adjusted. Does require some cutting but not hard to install at all. I also installed the metal stiff shifter bushings. The Perrin and metal bushings result in a crisp, accurate shift and, IMO, a great buy/mod.

I have the Perrin as well, with a Greddy shift knob that has good weight (heavy). My shifter is short, smooth and easy, and less notchy. I have metal spacers as well. The B&M doesn't give you the adjustability of the Perrin although it's easier to install. Make mine the Perrin

Unfortunatly my Evo is on loan for a few days while i have a customers STi in there for fitup.

Anyone tried the C's shortshift (JDM) yet? Some feedback on the C's shortshift would be nice.

were trying as hard as possible so you wont have to butcher your car. i'll know more later next week. We might also do a complete shifter with a new basket later on but that will be a bit more expensive. we'll see how this one turns out first.
were guessing just north of 100.00 for the shifter, but dont hold me to that just yet. got to get my bill from the CNC shop first.
we wil be looking for a few selected testers shortly too. i will put a post on that when were ready for a few members.
Happy shifting
tom
