The car lost 20 whp becuase I took out 3 degress of timing on top ane added lots of fuel to make his transient detonation go away

The first run was clean and then the detonation started and got worse

could be due to the dual tank pick up and the transfer of fuel from one side of the hump to the other as the gentleman above pointed out - it did have only $10.00 worth of gas in the tank

Or it could be from the car getting hotter on the dyno after a few baseline runs

Its all speculation

What we do know is the car had more detonation problems than most and had just filled up with 89 octane at the gas station accross our parking lot

You put two and two together

Bottom line is the car left with a great tune - with zero detonation and a very smooth power band and a fair amount of hp 315 to the wheels

We will get him more HP when he returns with some decent fuel

Why don't you go about fixing the idel problem on your exede, fulfilling your exisiting orders and answering your phone when your clinet's call you and stop stiring up stupidity and misinformation ?????

I am sure you also know about the two sides of the fuel tank, which side the gas goes into and which side it goes out of and how it moves from one side to the other ???

Actually, I hate Sunoco pump gas. I filled up with 94 octane once and got horrible knock when the car was running great with Mobil 93 octane previously.
I don't like it either. It definitely isn't worth the extra price..and in my opinion it doesn't seem to be as good as Exxon 93.
