a couple of questions camgears and motor oil

so i have been told by people that cam gears do not make a difference on evos for whatever reason, and i have been told that you can see moderate to big results from making the right adjustments. looking for a couple more opinions, also is anyone running dino- oil in there daily driver or a synthetic with an additive?

Changes in cam timing make a difference on any engine, including the 4G63. Cam gears are a tool. Like any other tool, this particular tool is most effective when in the hands of someone who understands how to use it.

There are nothing but disadvantages in using conventional oil in this engine, and any other modern engine, especially turbo engines. In fact, using conventional oil is enough to void the factory warranty. Avoid additives as well. Use an appropriate grade of a better brand of synthetic oil and that is all you will ever need.
