OOOPS Jacked up my OEM O2 Housing. Need some help.

So I jacked up my O2 housing awhile back while trying to remove the downpipe. Basically, one of the spring bolts welded itself into place and completely snapped when I tried to remove it. I'm replacing my exhaust and figured I would go ahead and replace this while I was at it. I would like to replace it without having to get the car retuned. Should I go with another OEM O2 housing or go aftermarket? Also, how much of a ***** is it going to be to replace this bad boy?

You could just drill a hole in housing and re tap it. Or even use a longer bolt with a nut n the back side.

Are the spring bolts a necessity or can you just use regular bolts on it?

if you are concerned about getting retuned, then I would just go for another OEM. however, for that price you an get a good ported aftermarket piece like buschurs for not much more and see decent gains. Me personally i would go for the JM Fab 02 dump of JM Fab 02 with recirculating housing. Shearer also makes a great quality piece. problem is they are a huge PITA to install and you should get a tune after to maximize power benefits.

do you have a wideband? if you do, you can run untuned and make sure to monitor the afr closely as some of these 02 housing tends to lean everything out up top. if not, get one! haha. (although basically the same price a s tune comparatively. whatver you choose, gl with your build and keep me posted!

Yeah I'm not currently running a wideband, so maybe I should just go with an OEM one.

if you have a wideband make sure you monitor your afr's, the new o2 may make your car run slightly leaner up top, shouldn't be too much

Thats only if I go with the megan/ebay O2 housing correct? Shouldn't have to worry about anything with an OEM replacement.

correct replacing an OEM o2 with another OEM one will not affect your current tune.

Correct, but changing to a different O2 housing will affect the tune.

Alright sounds good. I'll have to find another OEM one. Is it a pain in the *** to replace the O2 housing?

its not bad. Be prepared for broken/stripped bolts. There is a good how-to on how-to section
