what would help these poor stock turbos up stairs.
what would help these poor stock turbos up stairs.
been going threw this part of the forum for a little while now, i know the tune is everything. But I still see big name tuners with stock turbo pulls making 200wtq from 6-7000rpm. just wondering if there is a list of mods to make a better power band not... " 419wtq stock turbo" yea you made a 40psi spike and your making 215wtq@6k.
- thinking good o2 housing(external?)
-licp(good stock turbo mod)
-cams, i think this would open up some power upstairs. it seems like the stock turbo is always going to fall down, but maybe not as hard. any help would be great. the cars just not fun uptop =(

Peak airflow is the main issue, it cant support higher airflow at the rpm levels you are talking about. That being said though, here is one that was making over 300tq@ 7k. Honestly it doesnt matter what the torque number is past 5252 since it will always be low and the whp will continue to increase. I know the relationship and if one is high at the level the other will be as well, but thats not what I am trying to say.
that looks rather nice. seems like you could shift that car at 7000-7500(depending on the trans) and have a fast car that doesnt seem to dip much in power.(madd power btw)_nice work

There's a pile of mods to be done, ultimately the stock IX turbo will peak out around 6000rpm and fall off from there.
