Ikeya quick shift kit

I am a newbie and am looking at getting an evo, but I was
just wondering if anybody has seen or heard of this thing? It is a rally style shifter that uses the stock gearbox, but allows you to just push forward and pull back to change gears. It is around $800. It seems like one of the coolest things available. Here is a link. http://www.racegears.com/Products/Pa...al-shifter.htm

Thanks

Looks cool, but more like $1200. Plus it doesn't have the full functionality of a true semi-manual. You still have to operate the clutch and rev-match yourself. Personally, I will continue to impatiently wait for Mitsubishi to release their own SMG.

I hope Mitsu is listening, for $1200 I'd rather an SMG from the factory as well. My money is just bruning a hole in pocket waiting for them. a $2000 SMG option form Mitsu is all it takes... Now how hard is that. Call up a tranny/drivetrain supplier and ask em to ship over some bits and bolt em on..

Your shifting wont be quicker with it, its all kinda akward,
I tried it in Japan, one of JUN's clients had it in his car.
its not really practical, you still have to use youre clutch while shifting.

Team it up with 5Zigen's Twin Mode Clutch system and you're all set.

oh boy. If 5zigen can release pretty much an aftermarket SMT for the Evo VII for $1800, I'd hope the manufacturers would be able to offer a better, more suited to a specific car for the same amount of money..

Mitsu I hope you're reading these boards and figuring out what you can do to make more money..
