156mm Carillo H-beam: Custom or Available?

is the 156mm Carillo H-beam rod a custom connecting rod or is it something that is stocked at some shops?

I looked on Carillo's site and I only saw the 150mm rod listed.

The reason I ask is... if 156 is a custom rod length... and I have to buy a custom piston anyway... then I guess I can run a slightly longer rod to help the r/s ratio.

Thanks in advance.

R&R will make pretty much any length you want and use either ARP2000 or Custom Age 625 rod bolts.

My 156mm are Olivers. I had to wait, but it didn't take too long.

But of course, if you're really concerned about weight, Oliver can make a set from 6AL4V Ti, and those weigh in at around 400g. ($$)

Magnus' rods are made by R&R and are generally on the shelf. K1 has 162mm but I havent been able to find a 156mm part number.

Ted what is the price of the Ti rods? If I'm looking at 1k for the carrillos to save a few grams... I wonder how much more it is to save a hundred plus grams.... then I might as well get some aluminum rods. slippery slope!

A good friend of mine has a strong rapport with Oliver. Let me see what kind of price I can get.

I found some information out that I posted in my other thread that I'd post here since I feel it's relevant

Well I called Carrillo today and I called R&R…

Carrillo H-beam 150mm is 567grams(TOTAL) 396grams(BE) 171grams(PE)
Actual weight of the Carrillo @ 574grams (measured by Kouzman)
Price: 1312.00 w/CARR bolts @ 6weeks
The 156mm Carrillo rod is a custom unit...not stocked.

R&R H-beam 150mm is 571-575grams(TOTAL) 403grams (BE) 172grams(PE)
Actual weight of the R&R as measured by Mike on the last set that was shipped @ 571 grams
Price: 1012.00 w/625 custom aged bolts @ 6weeks

The R&R A-Beam 150mm is 612grams(TOTAL) 415 (BE) and 197(PE)
Price: 860.00

R&R H beam has a strong case. I focused most of my attention to the PE (wrist Pin End) weights more than the (BE) weights (standing for Big End) and the overall weight (which is the first step)
