I've read in other posts that a stock ix will read somewhere about 140psi on a static compression test!

What about when big cams are added to the mix?

I'm trying to figure out what would be "normal" for a MIVEC engine running S2 cams.

My compression is still about 135-140 with M2 cams.

 

Biggie, I would assume you are still a 2.0L block?

 

Mivec shouldnt change static compression, only affecting dynamic compression.

 

When its cranking there isnt enough oil pressure to force it to "0" though so it will change vs an VIII.

It shouldnt be much different but we have a tall deck block with the cam gear slightly off and make up for it with the MIVEC. However The thread should be titled perhaps, "What is 1/2tooth off cranking compression with S2s"?
