Competition Clutch review
I really, really enjoyed Comp's Stage 4 6-Puck ceramic in my previous VIII. Once I got used to the engagement,I had no reservations daily driving it everywhere, even in horrible traffic conditions. However, it was likely overkill for my setup on that car.
Stage 2 CC EVO X FAIL
I have been reading most of the posts on here do to my Stage 2 CC failing after just 15,000 miles. Less than a yr ago I replaced the stock one with this, I am only pushing 400whp and have never taken it to the track and is a DD. I was impressed with this clutch of course until it started to slip badly. It is in the shop and is not in driving condition. I dont drive it excessivley hard, and have been driving a stick for over 10 yrs. I called CC and they explained the 90 day warranty. I see that they improved their older clutch and am wondering if thats what I have. Purchased it from EVO X Parts. Does not seem anyone has had any issues as I have. I am going to call them back once the shop can inform me of what failed, hoping they will work with me so I dont have to drop another $1,300 on parts and labor
I purchased a CC ceramic 6 puck for my 9 (350whp, stock flywheel, bg synchro, braided line, stock shifter) about three years ago. I only put about 3000 miles on it before I moved to Japan. The engagement was a bit juttery, but it held the power just fine on launch and I had no issues with lock out. I will say that this clutch is a bit of a pain to drive in traffic. If you are short on funds and need a clutch that will hold some power/torque I recommend this clutch. Can't wait to drive her again in 8 months!

I'm on my 2nd CC in the last 2 years. 1st was the comp 3.5. That clutch lasted all of 6 months before the disc turned into a floppy di-k and lost all its rigidity. I will say comp was good and stood behind there clutch and got me new one. This time around they had me run the new stage 2. The stage 2 has lasted me 1.5 years of autocrossing and 3 trips to the drag strip with no more them 4 passes each time all around 11.50-11.40. The clutch now will not hold pump gas power (400/330) in 3rd 4th or 5th gear.
This time around I will not be using CC. I'M going back to ACT. Going to try the xtss. Not really that concerned about high rpm lock out as all I do is autocross. But at the same time I'm going to do what I used to do on my DSM. Detail the splines on the imput shaft and the disc. Always helped with shifting on the dsm's

I have the same clutch on my car and it took me some time to get used to it. My Evo makes just over 400whp.
The clutch is very heavy (probably 40% stiffer than OEM) and the friction point is like an ON/OFF switch for sure. If you don't hold the clutch in place on the friction point and keep releasing, it will just stall.
My car is not a daily and I just blast it around the block and track only. I might get something that is more street-able down the track for a bit of comfort so I can drive it more.
The main issue I have is when you change gears aggressively, coupled with Evos tendency to rev hang (due to emissions), there's a tendency for revs to shoot up on fast clutch engagement.
