I put in the shep cocktail 1 mt90 and 2 mtl I think thats what it was. Shifts great when its hot outside or once its warmed up. Will grind 1st if I I'm sloppy first downshift into first of the day. Its shifted great and clean all the way to 8k. This is on a built shep tcase and transmission.

Anyone in cold weather who is presently using AMSOIL in their six speed, I would be willing to give a good deal on the Castrol Syntorq LT to see user impressions.

I know AMSOIL is good fluid, but I have had such good luck with the Castrol I am curious to see a back-to-back comparison. Hopefully almost 116,000 miles on my tranny qualifies as good gear teeth protection

Hey Erik, do you track your car? Just curious how it holds up to track abuse and the heat generated.

I do not track my car....however, the Castrol Syntorq LT was specifically formulated to combat high temperatures ("LT" stands for low temperature). The Novi 4500 transmissions had a bad habit of grenading under heat stress (sound familiar MR owners?) and that's what the Castrol was developed to combat. That's called synchronicity, I think

i got to say erik, the castrol syntorq lt was the first tranny oil that i used on my MR tranny that doesn't have notchy second gear at cold start. i tried redline, mobil 1, royal purple and they all have notchy second gear on cold start. i will try amsoil to see. Definitely coming back to your castrol though.

That's good. My thoughts on the 10 to 12k are based soley on "feel" and nothing scientific. The scientific results from Blackstone said I can run the fluid much longer than 15k.

Do you have a tranny fluid temp gauge? I am hoping I can get some data on how much cooler this fluid runs than the Super DiaQueen.

Im currently running Amsoil MTG in my 6spd. Honestly im not all that impressed. 2nd and 3rd are noticeably more notchier than when i ran Redline MT90. Im looking to try something new. I'd like to give Milspec's stuff a shot as soon as winter is over and i flush for the track.

Well I finally put back Super DiaQueen 6 speed tranny fluid in my5 speed car and viola I can shift when the car is cold (30 degrees or colder)

AMSOIL sucks in cold temps.
