What size injectors should I go with?

If I was going for 500 to 550 wheel HP (590 to 650 crank HP) on pump gas with all supporting mods needed what size injectors would I need? My "best guess" is 880 cc but I havn't seen anyone specify what injectors to run for this HP level.

Thanks,

Keith

Wow that is a pretty big goal to try and achieve on pump gas.

You may want to do a little more research on that one. Not trying to flame or anything but man, 500-550 whp is going to take a BOAT LOAD of mods.

I don't think you are going to see that HP to the wheels on pump gas. The knock threshold of the fuel is going to limit you.

To make that much WHP though you would be safe using the 880 cc injectors. You probably won't need over a 660 cc injector though.

David,

Help a newbie out...

What parameters are you using to come up with a 660cc injector?

According AEM's guidelines, using a BSFC of .65lbs/hp and a target of 400HP, I come up with 630cc (~725cc @ 85% duty cycle).

In your experience with these motors, what is an appropriate BSFC and duty cycle safety margin? Are injectors rated at 100% of duty cycle?

This is were the tricks of the trade come in such as upping FP, higher octane gas, or going static for short periods. You loose control at 100% its just dependant on the pump at that point before it leans out
