Borla had a nice one but discontinued it. It had the million mile warranty but Im assuming they eventually cracked and they stopped making them.

Shearer tubular was proven (ON this site) to make 20+ more then a BR ported stocker. So I have no clue why people say that the ported stocker is way better? I believe they also have a lifetime warranty (a few of the reputable retailers do). There is also JMFab. My car came with a Megan and it cracked.

yea, i used to think that PPI had the bast exhaust mani's but recently MAP has been kicking butt. i dont think anyone out there offers a better ported manifold.

and yes, at one point MAP called it the "rev2 exhaust manifold" they just recently (and i mean within the past 2 weeks) changed it to just "ported exhaust manifold"

and stainless manifolds are crap, i had the Gt-spec manifold on my old evo and i was told by numerous tuners that it was crap. ive seen about a dozen evo's with megan manifolds and every time i see it im just like "ick he put a craptastic manifold on his car, he chose form over function"

so is it pretty conclusive that the ported map manifold makes more power than the megan? or is it just assumed from all the opinions on EvoM?

I'm not a Megan supporter by any means, cause I run a ported stocker myself, but most of the replies that I see here on Evo m are just people repeating what others say.

i was under the impression the megan did make more power than a stocker but they have bad quality. either way, if your never going with anything but a stock framed turbo it has been proven that at the moment you cant beat a shearer mani. pricey but its a beautiful quality piece that makes realworld power.

the only ones to ever make more power than a ported and coated stocker were full race and shearer

however they cost 3x what a ported and coated stocker costs and will cause the car to lose a little spool

it's a trade off imo

there was an exhaust manifold shootout a couple years back and it was determined that the full-race manifold had the most potential (this was before the shearer mani's) and the ported stocker came in closely behind. plus, you just cant beat the price.

I would go with the MAPerformance O2 excellent quality and about $120 less than the Shearer(even though the Shearer peice is beautiful). As for the mani we could discuss that all day, I think you have to take price and quality into acctount and not just go with "big names". Like has been said the ported stocker is the best bang for the buck. I personally went with the Megan racing because if you really look it is very similar to the big name ones. Most use T304 SS, 1/2 inch flanges, TIG welds, and mand. bends. Been on my baby for 6 months now R&R'd twice, drastic temp changes and no probles whatsoever. Just my .02 sure someone will have somthin bad to say about Megan but I have had good luck with it. Let us know what you decide!
