Did you remove the intake manifold? The alternator braket is attached to the intake manifold, so you could have missed that. There is a dowel on the corner you are speaking of, sometimes it can hang up on that a bit.

There are two dowel pins holding the head to the block. Passenger intake side and driver exhaust side. You might need to pry a little, but it shouldn't be too hard. If you are saying it is hanging up on the right, I am assuming the driver side exhaust.

Did you loosen the support bracket under the intake manifold? Good luck.

dude theres all kinda brackets holding that thing down,.. just take your hand and run it allllll around the head where it meets the block. if your fingers run into somthing,.. take it off,..
including the alternator bracket theres a total of three holding that thing down.

once your head is off the ONLY one that needs to go back on is the alternator bracket.

If you didn't take the IM off its probably the IM support bracket that's attached to the mani.

This. Alternator bracket is not the only one that needs to come off. There's a large bracket behind/below the intake manifold.

What do you mean your missing the dowel pins? There is nothing you can do about them, other than pry on the head to loosen it off the dowel pins. They are a little grabby, but you shouldn't have to use too much force so be careful and ensure nothing else is binding first. Obviously don't pry on either surface (head or block) as you don't want to scratch it up, just find other areas you can get leverage on.

Well which side is it binding on passenger or driver? The right side could be either side depending on where you're referencing from. Usually if it's a wire or a coolant hose it would be fairly obvious. There are a few plugs that are attached to your intake manifold bracket you have to slide off and you have to disconnect your oil dip stick from the intake as well.
