Rear end went out after clutch install
Check the transfercase. It comes off on a clutch install and if it was drained and not refilled... Well, when it locks up you get the "anchors away."
... and you heard a whining noise...
Locked transefer case, locked driveshaft, still rolling = biffed rear end (maybe).

I would bet money your transfer case is not fine. This same situation happened to me just about 3 weeks ago. The transfer case leaked all of the fluid out the back of it and locked up at 60 destroying my rear diff. I thought it was just my rear diff too, but guess what happened when I replaced the rear diff...car could go about 30 ft and then would bind up. You can still move the care with a bad t-case, but I would tell them to look again!
