It seems like the APS has solved this?
The adjustable spring will enable you to find a good balance of spring stiffness for holding boost vs drivability. in the end however you will be hardpressed to have ideal bov behavior. im not positive on aps "twin vent" machanism..not sure if it helps with full boost holding/release or partial throttle release..or both/neither. but an adjustable spring will help the partial throttle release funkyness. as far as i know the aps works great on street level and heavier equipped cars

see my problem is that when I'm at the track and im in a turn and I have to release the throttle a small amount the Turbo-XS RFL just dumps all the air and then the car runs mad rich until I get back on boost. this kills my throttle response and causes alot of lag

I've been told a good re-circulating or partially re-circulating BOV or DV should fix this?

I got rid of my APS for the Perrin, I like it a lot better, doesn't flutter as bad as the APS did.

Well I know its too late but the Tial Bov's are great. I have the Tial Q and I love it, light throttle, full boost, no matter it loves it all and acts really well during any condition. I would tell anyone to get this bov, and it sounds great also.

tial ftw I'm running one on my fp red setup on 30 psi with stock mas air ..if u have a good tuner then your set if not then you'll need to do speed density..

You mean you'll be set if you remove the maf and switch to speed density, not what you said.

I'm currently on the hunt for the best part-throttle BOV. I made good power on the Tial Q, it holds like it should but after trying all spring combos, vacuum line combos, etc etc it still causes the small, spikey BBK turbo to surge pretty bad. Yes I'm running a 12" long 1/4 vacuum line right to the IM so don't ask.

The stock IX works great for every throttle situation. However, I have to up my WGDC a bit to get the same boost as I had with the Tial (29psi) so I know it's leaking. I ordered up a Synchronic (without port C) so I'll post my feedback once I get it. If the Synchronic doesn't work I'm going to crush my IX or try a Works or APS unit.

Yikes, this is the 1st that I've heard of the BBK spiking & surging! I thought that they were immune to everyday maladies, etc.

If you already have a IX DV on hand, then it wouldn't cost you anything to just crush it a wee bit and try that. I'd at least try it before spending $190.

So is the only problem with the HKS SSQV BOV just that it vents completely? Or can it not hold boost? Is that why no one recommends it?

The Synapse is awesome but I have the turbosmart Raceport and that thing is dope. Chris at MA recommended it and I love it. I have had 5 bovs and all of them leaked but this one!

What is everyone using for 32+psi of boost here? I had a type s on my car for 2 years, held 32+psi up until this winter. I think weather conditions, from dropping to -10 at night to engine warm up etc killed the diaphram.
