Kelford 272 and stock turbo
something to keep in mind...since you say youre not going to change your turbo you should just keep the stock valvetrain...the kelfords will help up top a lot...but the stock turbo is still going to fall on its face up there...
so i doubt there would be any need for you to rev past the stock limiter...it wont hurt to have the springs and retainers installed since you're going to be in there anyways...

The kelford 272's should really get the upgraded springs and retainers. Don't be cheap, do it right the first time. Why take the risk which could make you pay more later. I am going to be installing the kelford 272's with supertech dual springs and retainers here really soon. I plan on using them on the stock turbo for now until I have the money to upgrade the turbo.
I Have to wonder how power delivery really compares to dyno charts.
The FP 280+ cams I have produce insane torque and response. They don't seem out of the norm on a dyno sheet though. I can play with cam timing and only lose maybe 10ft lbs down low, add maybe 100 RPM to spool and gain 10-15 HP up top. On a dyno pull, it looks like a good trade off, yet it COMPLETELY kills the response of the car on the street.

hmm I get mixed reviews whether Kelfords needs a valvetrain upgrade or not... I think I might just go with the S1's and call it a day. Seems like the S1 are a better match for the stock turbo power band/rev limit. Don't need to rev to 9000 on a daily driver/stock block.

I just installed arp headstuds, head gasket ,supertech springs & retainers, and kelfords 272's.I definately say do it right the first time too.If not you'll spend more money in the end.Anyways the driveability of the kelfords is awesome
and I also have a evo 8 with stock turbo.GL with whatever your decision is.
Kelford 264's with the stock turbo. The 272 make a lot of power over 7k RPM's, you wont be doing that with the stock turbo. If you look at the AMS shootout, they tested every cam with a 500+WHP GT35R setup. It's not apples to apples.
I have Kelfords 272 and did not make hardly any WHP with the stock 9 turbo. Although, I really fill them working at 6000-8500 RPM's with the FP Red.
