wondering how the spec stage 3+ clutch holds up on a stock evo 9 tranny... am i crazy or no?

thats the clutch im going ot be running soon! heard good things about it from other evo people but would like to hear more also

 

well, just put mine in..
i love it.. it grabs pretty rough, but nothing thaaaat rough, still daily driveable.. also the pedal feels amaaazing, basically feels like stock.. but i need a clutch pedal adjustment it feels a litttle ****yy right now...

still breaking it in tho. havn't gotten on it hard yet

 

hmmm.... thats my upcoming choice!

Theres tons of threads on here about just how big of a failboat the spec clutches have been in Evos. Spec makes awesome clutches for junkstangs, but they have not gotten any praise in the Evo world. Heres a big thread that started up a few weeks ago.

I heard the Spec clutch are junk. Save your money and buy something else.

I run a spec twin with 2k miles on it and locks out over 7k rpm, save your money and buy a Exeedy, I know I will next time.

 

^ It's like a broken record. If I had a new spec in my possession I wouldn't even risk installing it.

 

Old thread but this clutch (3+) is rated to just under 600ft/lbs and appears to be a full-face sprung disc. The problems I read on EvoM and Spec clutches were only on the twin plates am I wrong? Has anyone else tried the single disc 3+?

 

yeah i did when i had my stock tranny and i launch the car and clutch took a poop! o and i also made 452wtq on my OG fp green. clutch was fully broken in and it was the first launch on the clutch.
