6-Speed MR: Test -- Information to Follow

I've read a ton about out transmissions 4th gear giving way and not dealing well with the heat. I have had awesome luck so far with it. I maintained 435awhp for ~10,000 miles. I was always ontop of it changing fluids every 5,000 miles. Transmission still to this day shifts perfectly.

Anyways here is the "test" I plan on doing to see how this will hold at high horsepower. My motor is finally finished and heading back to me from Mike@AWD. The setup is as follows:

Destroked 2.1 4G64 Bottom End
Buschur Stage 3 Head
Buschur Ported TB
Buschur Ported IM
ARP L19
Gates Kevlar Belt
Peakboost Topmounted 37r
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Speed Density (If neccessary)
Buschur COP
etc...

My goal is to break into the 700's if possible. I want to see how long this thing will last. Also, I will be changing the tranny fluids every 3,000miles. When I do change the oil, I will send it in to get an analysis done an see what the results are. I plan on using oem fluids unless there is something better out there.

Good luck, and great choice of parts.

huumm OEM fluid with that power, you need to step up your game with your fluids, something that gives you a better cushion at the gears.

What would you suggest? I've read about a few others but all with mixed reviews. I dont want to use an oil cooler. I'm planning on putting a hole in this thing so I dont want to waste too much $$$

I would suggest Amsoil. I have 87k on my 6spd and the last 9k with Amsoil in it. I didn't notice any change in shifting but it did make my whine go away. BTW I'm installing a FP Black next week. I hope my trans holds the power too.

Well I have an MR, build 2.3L HTA 35R, so far my tranny is doing just fine, I dont beat on it much but I have been running redline heavy shockproof in the TC and Light shock proof in the tranny, Everything seems great, been running these fluids for about 20K 2 changes well one because of changing the motor, but after build I have just a little over 10K on it, I live in Utah and its cold in the mornings and it shifts a little slow but once its all warm its great, I am very happy with it all.

Not 700 for sure, Well we have bad gas around here, 91 octain :-) so nothing too great. I run lower boost of course all the time, but it was on the dyno at around 500 92 octain, no meth, not e85, I know I could have gotten much more with other stuff but its not needed for my car as its my DD, As I said I dont really beat on it much and I just run WG anymore all the time as its plenty. Of course more is fun and great but not needed, also I daily drive my car as its my only car. Its out in the parking garage right now :-)
