I know who you're talking about and I've actually never had a problem with them and I've dealt with them a couple times, just talk to them straight up and tell them what you need. Although some of the best customer service I've seen has to go to MAP, they always answer the phone and help you out with whatever, even if its a stupid question.

You have received some really nice feedback. I personally went with the SBR 2.4L build and I can't wait to get it tuned on E85 @ 30PSI. I'll keep you all posted.

Mike,
you would need a 97mm K1 crankshaft in a 4g64 to make the 2.3L's Would rev better than a 100mm crank...and IMO would be much better than a 2.3L 4g63 w/100mm crank.

^ My thoughts exactly Eric. I think that setup would be great for me and it should be able to rev 8.5k all day long. Also I can throw in a longer rod and a lightweight stroker piston to give me a better r/s ratio. Right?

^^^ 4g64 with a 2.2L crank to make a 2.3L = AMS RR motor...

I went with JAM 2.3L stg 3. Was the best choice I could make, this motor makes tq and they last!!! http://jacksonautomachine.com/index....mart&Itemid=12

If your motor is built right with strong parts (rods especially) You could technically rev to what ever you want and it should hold together a long time. There is no replacement for displacement unfortunately.

A motor being rev'd high 8k+, built for it or not, WILL not last as long as motor not rev'd as high.

I.E; say a motor has 800,000,000 strokes/cycles before rings, valve seats ect ect wear out and need replaced. So a motor revving to 9000 VS 7800 will wear out faster period, built right and all. Not to mention the increased heat. A bigger displacement motor will make its VE sooner and allow you to not have to rev high.

Your turbo and supporting mods should be chosen after you choose a power-plant for your given goals. Larger turbos
(40's & ^) will need a higher rev limit due to size. But 800 whp is capable on a HTA86 35R and on a 2.3L will see full spool rather quickly. My personal 2.3L twin scroll HTA3582 sees 2 Bars by 3600-3800 RPM and I rev till 8k.

Regardless of what motor you get, only rev till the car quits making power. If your motor has capabilities of revving to 9500 and you peak HP at 7900 why keep turning it? (Unless 1/4 mi need to peak 4th gear) Get a S2K or a R6 if you like revving so much lol
