There no way t measure it that I know of, and for your second statment I have no idea what ur saying

To be honest man, if your having small issues that you can't figure out take the car to someone else, seems like you don't know what ur doing or even know to much about ur car

ive done a turbo swap on my wrx and i put my fp red in on my evo. im saying that it looks like the hotside was connected to the compressor wrong so its kinked a little which may be why my spring is as far as it can go in the actuator.

well when you take the stock turbo apart theres a small pin/hole where you align the two parts of the turbo together. This pin/hole guarantees perfect alignment, try takeing the clamp off and pulling the turbo apart and see if that pin/hole is lined up correctly

yeah i noticed the pin hole but of course the turbo has no pin for some fuc*ed up reason. something is messed up with it and im really pissed off. the actuator doesnt line up right either...i dont know if there is a difference but the actuator that came with the turbo doesnt want to line up and either does the one on my fp red.

here are some more...i cant really take good ones because my camera sucks. the first ones just show how the actuator hits the compressor part of the turbo and the other two have numbers

hey man like youve already cleared up with the help from evo kid your probably fine with the hotside aslong as its the 10.5 but ik thats nothing new. and as far as the wastegate when i got my red with the 80mm compressor i had to cut some reliefe cuts in the actuator side and bend it alittle. idk if thats were your having the issue but thats what it sounds.

hey man thanks a lot...yeah i may do it a little but theres just so much fishy stuff. the actuator hits the j-pipe a little. i can twist the arm and the one on my red i can't, there are little silver pellets from some sort of welder. the hotside just scares me because i thought it could only be from an evo 9, i took the hotside completely off and the little pin is gone.

i am so tired of working on my car i may just throw it in there and hope for the best. i just hope its not blown up or something

If you cannot tell whether the turbo is blown the moment you take it out of the box you have no business buying used parts. The actuator is never long enough...or shouldn't be.Thats called spring preload. It should line up, BBK is one of the only stock frame turbos that is truely stock frame so any external parts should mate up perfect.

I was kurt in my reply because you were quick to blame the seller and your whining, if you didn't wanna do it then pay a shop to do it.

pay a shop to do what? i got a 9.8 hotside on my bbk full....im pretty sure thats the sellers fault considering everyone knows the evo 9 turbo has a 10.5. the wastegate is the least of my worries. but after doing research before i *****ed like you say, i read that the evo 8 turbo with the 10.5 hotside had a single wastegate flapper and mine has 2. if you just spent 1k on a turbo that is useless you would be pretty pissed off too so why dont mind your business. i wanted help to make sure the turbo is what it is. sorry im in denial because i just got fuc*ed out of $1,000.

I know the seller is a good guy because his feedback is amazing. he told me he bought the turbo off someone else and he obviously just didnt check to see if it was good or not, but that shouldnt be my fault.

i havent heard back from him yet which is also scaring me....

If it is a full there is no way its 9.8. And I did offer you useful information. It is obvious to me and anyone who reads this that you an unfamiliar with what you are doing. Normally this is not an issue because there is tons of info on this site and tons of experienced ppl willing to help, but with your attitude i would just as soon you figure it out yourself.

Ps they make a 10.5 with the double flapper wastegate , I am Fairly certain that is what they use for the BBK. Also BLOUCH turbo is one of my supporters and I could have called several people who work there to find out for you, if I cared, have a nice day.

im glad you are trying to help me but when i sense sarcasm it makes me angry. i know how to use the search button but when you type something in you get tons of pages of other useless stuff. i have been researching and did find out that the 05 mr has a single flapper 10.5 and the 05 rs and gsr have a dual flapper design.

i am certainly no pro at this stuff but i installed my fp red with no problems and i also installed my turbo when i had a wrx. trust me if i had the extra dough i would definitely have someone install my stuff for me.

sorry if i came off as an a-hole but i have spent all day making sure my turbo is good. being in college and dropping a grand is scary for me and it was stressful.

thanks for the help though...maybe i took your comment the wrong way

lol crazy why dont you box it up and send it back to cbrd and let them put it back together or give you the bad news. THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT BUY USED TURBOS. you never know what your getting certain parts are ok to buy with light use a turbo to me is not one of them.

btw why are you getting rid of your fp red?

Its a 10.5T dual flapper, why are you freaking out? BBK Full is not available with a 9.8T, I guess you could do a lite and a 9.8T for spool purposes but I doubt one exist.

What you have is correct, there should be no reason it won't work.
