Tired of the loud Exhaust

Like the title says. I've been running the turbo tbe w/ an ultimate racing tp for 3 years now and i am just tired of the noise. Power is great, and it sounds amazing at WOT, but on the highway the drone has gone on long enough. I'm thinking of getting the tenabe touring medalion exhaust at first and trying it with the tp. If it's still loud i'm thinking mil spec hfc. My only concern is that i've been running this setup for 3 years without a CEL. Will the mil spec throw a CEL? Will i need a retune by switching to a hfc from a tp if i decide to do it? Thoughts?

If you make it quiet then you'll want the performance tone back. The problem is that you get tired of things quickly. Just get a electric cutout so you can switch back and forth and make the most of every day.

But, the OP said that he is tired of the daily noise on his UR exhaust. An electric cutout, although not a bad idea, would not make his exhaust system any quieter, would it?

Want quiet and performance? Click on link:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...t-exhaust.html

At this moment I have pretty much the same exact setup as I did in that link only difference is I have a high flow cat now. And I think that setup posted in the link with 2 mufflers was quieter. I did get my current exhaust used so unless maybe the magnaflow muffler burnt up a little, its not too bad though. Different tone compared to the dual muffler and a little more "rumble-y".

Sold the previous setup to help pay for my Shep Trans. What I'm thinking of doing in the future is maybe making a dual tip setup. A 3" Buschur exhaust with dual 2" or 2.5" tips rear muffler. Maybe the split into 2 smaller pipes will suppress sound more but still able to flow same or more than 3" since combined area of the exhaust passages are equal or larger.

I had the opposite problem, I wasn't happy with the stock exhaust , it was too quiet when racing around town so I went and got me a Greedy TI. I love it. Makes the person next to you hear you loud and clear....haha

Throw a code? No. Going from a cat to a TP usually throws a code, but not the other way. If you're worried, just use your o2 sim fix, or the mechanical spark plug non fouler to not throw a cel.

you could always run another 3inch inline muffler with a resonator or two. but then again your adding alot of weight by doing so. but as it seems your not to worried about the extra lbs.

i was going to do what i just explained on mine but didnt want the extra 50lbs in material.

honestly, run a three inch DP that Y's off to an electric cut off,(that is run to work off a swith OR WOT), and a stock exhaust.

only two things i could possibly think of to get you where you wana be. GL mane

Why would a cat throw a code lol?... test pipes throw codes if anything.

BluEvo's exhaust was nice and quiet. I'd look at the BR exhausts, some of them are nice and quiet during cruising and normal driving but still have a nice tone WOT.
