ANY work? I would like nitrous to spray out of my wheel wells. I want custom graphics on the side. I would like my car painted booger green, with gay wheels and all, just like the fast and furious car. Hehe, j/k

Superz if you can do the job well in that amount of time I give you alot of credit. I know someone who did one and it took 10hrs, called my buddy at Island Mitsubishi and they have 7.6 lbr hours for the job.

Some of you may know about my Evo, but some of you may not. I had a bad transfer case in it for the longest time. It was making the whining sound, but it never broke. Recently, my transmission started grinding hard, and locking out of gear. Also, my clutch got a little funky (HKS GD Max).
I got all the parts and had Gil install everything. He's a guy from NY with a blue Evo 8. This guy works super fast, and is priced very competitively. Swapping clutch, transfer case and tranny, start to finish, took this guy 3 hours and 10 minutes. If anyone has looked under the Evo 8, you'll know that the clutch job isn't simple like a Honda. Can't believe he got it done that quick.
Anyway, for anyone in the area that needs a clutch/tranny/transfer case swap done, I'd highly recommend Gil (superz on evoM). Tell him Terry with the red Evo sent you.

Morning.
Aren't you the guy that rebuilt the tranny? How did that work out.
I am having mine rebuilt (Under Warranty) because of the 3rd gear syncro and also having them replace the clutch.
Just wanted an opnion on the job.

Hi there,
the tranny came out excellent! I ended up replacing 2,3,4,5 th gears. I also replaced the synchros and sleeves for those gears. I found all to be slightly rounded and thats what caused the "crunching" going into gears. The synchros were actually OK, they were not causing the problem, instead the shift forks are what causes premature wear on the gears. I modified the forks to have a tighter fit onto the sleeves, therefore driving the sleeve into the gear in a more straight direction. I found that the stock fork was pushing the sleeve across in a slightly cocked way therfore causing a crunch into gear. Some trannys will be ok , some wont. Im also using REDLINE HEAVY SHOCKPROOF in the tranny. I use this because of its way superior stickiness to the metal components. This fluid is used in many SCCA roadrace cars for its durability. The drawback is that its a little stiff when cold, but within a few minutes of driving it feels great. The tranny is now quieter with this fluid also. I use this in the tranny,t-case, and rear diff. Its the only fluid that's a PITA to clean even with brakekleen. It simply sticks to the metal like nothing I've seen before.
