Evo 8 clutch install in NY area...

Some of you may know about my Evo, but some of you may not. I had a bad transfer case in it for the longest time. It was making the whining sound, but it never broke. Recently, my transmission started grinding hard, and locking out of gear. Also, my clutch got a little funky (HKS GD Max).

I got all the parts and had Gil install everything. He's a guy from NY with a blue Evo 8. This guy works super fast, and is priced very competitively. Swapping clutch, transfer case and tranny, start to finish, took this guy 3 hours and 10 minutes. If anyone has looked under the Evo 8, you'll know that the clutch job isn't simple like a Honda. Can't believe he got it done that quick.

Anyway, for anyone in the area that needs a clutch/tranny/transfer case swap done, I'd highly recommend Gil (superz on evoM). Tell him Terry with the red Evo sent you.

He charges $450 for the clutch install. That included the fluids needed (oil for the transfer case and gear oil).

The transmission I got from a guy that had a crashed Evo. Paid $1400 for that. The transfer case costed me around $1200. It's good to have spares. Going to have the busted ones rebuilt.

Gil works at a dealership, and does the job on the side. He has a deal with a gas station/garage. Does the work there.

Oh that's why he is so quick. Good dealer guys that know there stuff work fast. See A dealer pays per job. So for example a EVO's clutch in the book says 4 hours. So if the guy does it quicker then 4 he can start on the next car. Dealer guys get paid by the hour so he can put in a 14hour day in 8 just by doing the jobs fast.

Also being a dealer guy he's got the experince doing this fist and right..

Nice to know about him.

Wow - a clutch is only a 4-hour job in the Mitsubishi labor cost book?

just a example I don't know what the book says about clutch install. I'm sure it would be more in the 6 hours.
