The car was first registered here March 2008.Evo X came to US late 2007,we had to wait till early 2008.

LOL a bit late i know, but i was searching for P0170 & P0125 since my Evo VIII recently started giving that code. I did'nt know about the knock sensor being that sensitive. But in Belgium they dont wear wooden shoes. Only in those parts very close to the Brabant-Belgium border. Wooden shoes are Dutch lol

But anyways, HaVoC187 what was the problem? I assume it must have been fixed by now?

i have both code:
P0170
&
P0125

But it only pops up when driving with a constant speed on the highway?

Our cars are not nearly as sensitive to the wire cleaning as other cars. OUr car dont use a hotwire type MAF the use a karman vortex. The GM MAF is a hotwire sensor and much more vulnerable to the wrong cleaner. Also a hot wire maf should obviously not be cleaned when the car is on. It isnt a bad idea to use MAF cleaner but isnt as critical on a mitsu using stock MAF.

my car misses a beat when i drop the hood too. running SD on AEM V1 so its not MAF related.
but my car has always done that since it was new. damn mitsu...... LOL

The P0170 was due to a faulty front O2 sensor.Dealer wants 340€ for this so get one here:

Okay just to add to this thread I had the same issue with my Evo 9, traced the fault to dry joint in the MAF, confirmed by tapping the Maf with the handle on a screw driver. The car would also drop power
for a fraction of a second if I hit a big enough bump in the road, I was originally thinking fuel pump as I have 268,000 km on my car lol
