About to break 400, what now.

I just got on the dyno and after a little fine tuning I should be at about 400hp on pump. I think my next upgrade is a turbo. I'm pretty sure I would be going with something stock frame. My major issue is whether to go for more power or start working on some of the supporting mods, like tranny, transfer case, axles, ect. Any suggestions? It's a IX btw if that makes a difference.

Let us know your current mods and we can offer advice. You may not necessarily need to upgrade the tc, axles, etc., for 400awhp, but it would be a good idea to keep that money set aside just incase something goes bad.

Agreed you will never know what will go wrong next. So save while saving for other performance mods too.

I have Ferodo brake pads actually, which I hate lol. And nah just straight 93, I'm grab a map for E-85 but I'm trying to make the power on pump since it's annoying to get a hold of it on Long Island. I was thinking about suspension but the stock setup satifies me for now and I'd rather get the power first. I'm picky with suspension set ups and don't really have the patience or time to do it right for now. I'd rather build a motor lol.

same exact mindset I have....suspension was my only bad move so far...why u hate the Ferodo? I love them (except there is no possible way to keep rims clean with them lol)

I asked about meth and E85 cause u have HUGE injectors for the stock turbo no? even for a stock frame upgrade those suckers are pretty nicely sized why so big?

Try a Labonte meth kit from Tammer at 4WS and see how you like dialing in the meth and then if I was you Id wait for BBK-B from CBRD...that seems like a nice route for you

Its also mine lol

edit again: do you track the car or is it DD street car?

It's my DD and race car, but I'm more concerned with performance, I can deal with the inconvenience that comes with it. And as for the injectors, it leaves me with options you know, I can tune em for stock turbo, upgrade the turbo, run meth or high octane, just keeps the windows open. So I assume I drive it half way decent, you all think stock drivetrain should hold up for now? Is there a general rule of thumb number they're good until?

O and I hate the ferodos because they're way too noisy, I get angry glairs everytime I pull up to a red light. Some old dude actually knocked on my window once at a light to tell me a need a brake job.

I replaced mine just because my 5th gear thingy went bad and mitsu= no warranty so I was in the ...Yeah why not....mood so I did the clutch and trans....i think you should be fine for now that clutch may go a little quickly if you get closer to 500 possibly

what are you in the mood for if you are thinking of going HUGE in the future you may possibly want to think of the motor (plus if you buy a stock frame like BBK or RED they resale for a decent amount so you dont loose to much) but if your not thinking of going huge maby think of new intake mani and getting your exhaust and o2 housing ported and coated and then go ***** to the wallz on the stock frame

I think your t-case, etc will be fine if you dont race every weekend and pretty much beat the crap out of the car. At least for a pretty long time. I would do turbo and then start saving for the other stuff. But that is just me. Also depends on how many miles you got on that thing too I guess.
