Unhappy EVO IX wont start after cosworth 272 cam install..HELP!!

I’m going to get to the point. I was installing cosworth 272 cams in my EVO IX MR yesterday planning on getting it tuned afterwards. But after the install the car wouldn’t start. I checked the timing on the cam pulley and it was and still is a TDC, also the timing marks on the cam gears. When I did start the car I heard a “popping” sound coming from the engine so I decided to go back to stock cams and go to the shop (maybe I was messing something up with the new cams). I put in the stock cams and to my amaze still no start. But I didn’t get no “popping” sound it just sounds like its not turning over. When I did the cam install on both cosworth 272 and stock is I made sure the cam gears where lined up and the tick mark was at the “T” on the cam pulley. Then I zip ties the timing belt to the cam gears so I wouldn’t lose my timing (I’m sure it didn’t). I took out the exhaust cam first and bleed the lifters (I heard you do and you don’t have to, but I did). I reinstalled the exhaust cam and tightened everything back up from the torque specs I seen on Evo MOTO. I did the same with the intake cam also. Any tips or am I missing something. Thanks for the help guys.

Is your cam position sensor plugged in?
Did you make sure you fit the little groove on the intake cam perfectly with the cam gear?

Mine didn't start either, and we found out the little grooves didn't get into the place correctly. The timing was right, but in fact, the intake cam was off by 180 degrees.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime at all? Could be something as simple as a main ground on the engine isn't hooked up.

It could be a tune issue with the bigger cams and a cold start issue, I know people around me have issues like that.

I am in fayetteville (at work right now..stupid work), I was going to call jason at epic but the shop was closed. But I did get a spark and I did check the coil plugs, Twice (there are no stupid questions, just stupid things we might have missed). I did check the cam sensor but i will double check it when i go home. But last I checked the cam sensor it was in the grooves and i dont think i damaged it. Im sure I didnt but I will check it. But like I said in my post after the cosworth cams started to make a sound when I tried to start it (a popping sound), But I changed back to my stock cams so i could take it to epic.

Question? Is there a way that I could have messed up timing even tho the timing marks on the cam gears line up and the mark on the cam pulley is at TDC?

I just did a compression test and its 0 psi in all valves. I pulled out plug wires, took out spark plugs. Disconnected cam sensor near the back. Held down go pedal and cranked for 4 to 6 seconds. Nothing. Question 1, did I do the test right? Question 2, if I did the test right what could be the problem? Question 3, what could be the problem...(hahaha). I talked to Jarod from BR on the phone and he said im pretty much SOL, but im willing to try anything right in my power before I get a trailer and take it to a shop. (shop is closed today anyways)..

Dang man sounds like you could possible have some bent valve's unless your compression tester some how didnt seal on the chamber i would double check all timing marks crank, cams with marks on valvecover they sould be dead on it is posible for the belt to slip while doing a cam install best of luck

You should also pull the fuse to the fuel pump I believe when doing a compression test.
