it robs some power but it's not that bad. it's not like you are losing 20 horses. it's more like 5. i think turbo magazine did this test in a mag. but , try it. i have a test pipe on the way with the turboback, but i'm gonna run the stock cat for now.

Might want to try Buschur's mid muffler - I'm running a test pipe right now and the noise is a bit much for me

I tested back to back a high flow (before the 100 cell ones, which flow much better) and a test pipe. Difference was about 10 whp. I imagine between stock cat in an otherwise free flowing exhaust system, and a test pipe/100-cell, at least 15 whp.

I bought my car with a perrin tbe and high flow cat. I ended up gutting it out. Noticed a increase in turbo/throttle response. sound was alittle louder not to bad.

FWIW Mil.Spec back to back dyno'd their 100 cell HFC and a test pipe and the difference was 5hp.

^ I knew someone tested the 100 cell and the test pipe back to back and it was a super small difference.

NY hasn't done emissions testing on OBD2 cars in years. Has something changed recently?

I put a test pipe on my AMS tbe, and there was zero change to the sound. It, in fact is a tad quieter at freeway speeds. But i Looooove the smell standing behind it!

It depends on the mods on what you gain when you delete the cat. Ive seen gains of 30whp with an FP Turbo and going catless.

Whats all this about smelling gas if you go catless? Ive been without the cat since 04 and not once smelled gas when i stopped. Shoot flames like a **** though!
