RP is still a very small group, they have been called out many times because of claiming their oils were fully synthetics when in reality they were selling blends, this claim was at the BBB of New York.
They dont share data like many other manufacturers, you dont see them running high end testing no API starburst certs, they hate comparing their products to other manufacturers,,,
its obviouse they put a lot of money into advertising and thats how any vendor can get market share.
when i see RP i think about that 90hp honda civic making noise at 1000 db levels
guys not bashing just sharing how they operate,,, i reccomend you run Mobil 1 before you run that oil... at least Mobil meets your OEM specs.

sorry budddy RP>AMsooil......quick fact: alot of Corolla 16v & 20v after break-in-oils they switch to RP right after and stay with it, these are time attack 86's and drifting corollas, RP is Great if you believe it or not. sooo quit with the RP doesnt meet OEM spec BS. thaanks no hard feeelins just my say
I tried RP back in the day after my Talon **** the bed I rocked an 03 OZ Rally for a lil while, granted it was by no means a preformance engine but I didnt like the way my car felt after using it.
Plus I heard a lot of bad things, granted its just crap from the internet but compound that to my experience and I was off of it. Granted I prolyl shoulda gave it a few cycles before passing judgment but Im scared to put it in my Evo.

Do you only read what you want to believe? Did you read any of the other posts about RP having an adverse affect on their engine?
I did some googling, and the Subaru community feels the same way about RP concerning them using dino oil as a base with merely synthetic additives. There are many sites with oil analysis that consistantly put AMSoil ahead of the competition.

ehhh you def. bashing on RP RP reminds you of 90hp civic sorry budddy RP>AMsooil......quick fact: alot of Corolla 16v & 20v after break-in-oils they switch to RP right after and stay with it, these are time attack 86's and drifting corollas, RP is Great if you believe it or not. sooo quit with the RP doesnt meet OEM spec BS. thaanks no hard feeelins just my say

i never said i had technical imformation, just giving my 2cents and my experience with RP...
Royal Purple isn't meant to run for 3000 miles. It doesn't protect as well as mobil 1, but it does reduce windage and pick up power on the dyno. If you want the most protection for your motor I always recommend Shell Rotella. It has one of the highest zinc dithiophosphate contents of available motor oils, which many smarter people than me feel is one of the most important qualities in a motor oil.
FWIW I have run royal purple since the 600 mile mark on my evo. I have 42k on it and I have zero problems. On a side note I do run amsoil in my tranny xfer case and rear diff.

I fully respect your opinion and your life experiences, however RP has proved not to perform compared to not only AMSOIL but many other manufaturers.
whats amazing is how they advertise their oil filters to be a synthetic filter bla bla bla, that filters at 20+ microns
for over 12.00 buck a filter 
man comon your 5 dollar OEM filter does better than that, the WIX filter i sell for 4.00 bucks are filtering the same as RP highly advertised filter.put the best in your 30,000 $ plus evo nothing less

oh by the way, boom29 is a member in these forums he runs RD 10W30 in his TT evo IX, is AMSOIL's race oil, and Oil Analysis showed over 1500 ppm of Zinc and Phos thats pretty nice in my books.... i dont know where rottella stands ??
these are in my book: amsoil, mobil 1, vavoline VR1. I used RP only ones! and i said Tyvm, lifters on my previous motor where going crazy so i went back to mobil 1 , now im using VR1 on my build motor.
