Trans Fluid Time
Trans Fluid Time
Im going to change my trans fluid tomorrow i know how to do it just a quick question.
Im going to get some from autozone prolly Pennzoil synchromesh or valvoline and run that for probly 5,000 miles and then change it into reline.
The real question is this shouldnt hurt anything right? Its not the best, but i think it should do.
Also, my clutch is Freakn loud cuz its exedy =/, is their any actual fluid that quiets it down?
Come on, pulling up next to someone and them saying "nice car" then u take off and all they hear is the clutch is kinda annoying...
Thanks

My opinion.... If you don't know when the last time it was changed and your tranny hasn't granded yet then it most likely has the proper fluid in there and will be ok for another 5k as long as your not pounding on your tranny (track days dragging etc.) Order the redline and wait for it.
If you want to go outside and work on your car. Do a boost leak test. With an evo you can never do too many boost leak tests. Might as well order some throttle body shaft seals while your at it so when you find out your leaking there you can swap them out.
But to answer your question I would think it would be ok with the autozone fluid for a little bit but I personally wouldn't because i hear all of these horror stories about the evo trannys being so sensitive to proper fluids etc...Why risk it?
Enjoy the weather!
