Possible Rear end Problem

I'm having this constant noise that ive isolated to the rear end of the car. It drives me crazy and makes me not want to drive the car much anymore.. Its not much of a whine. If possible Ill try to update the thread with sound.

But here's the deal:

Ive had the car aligned recently, figuring that would solve the problem, but to no avail. Alignment is in spec.

but whenever i drive, i get this constant whopping sound, like whop, whop whop that increases or decreases with the car speed.

Its not the tires either, as Ive had them rotated and balanced, but its definitely something that rotates when the car is in motion.

So what are the symptoms of a rear diff going bad, or could it possibly be wheel bearings?

thanks guys

i need help as this is driving me crazy. I dont want to pay to get the rear diff replaced when that isnt the problem or its something simple.

do a video, could be the starting of a wheel bearing that goes bad, or might be a tire issue.....

It definitely is the wheel bearing on your hub. I had this problem and am still currently fixing it. If the diff was bad, you would hear and even feel the drive shaft pulsating/vibrating as you drive (yes, I currently have this problem too).

Ok I have the same problem that you described. It has gotten worse to the point where it makes huge knocking sounds going over bumps and dips. I was told to check for a bad wheel bearing jack up the car, grab the tire at 12 and 6 o'clock position and move back and fourth. If there's play you have a bad wheel bearing. But none of my wheels have any play at all. I don't want to drive my car anymore, feels like something is going to explode.
