Exedy Twin Questions?

For starters I picked up an Evo from a dealership earlier this month. When I test drove it I had a feeling there was a twin disc in it. The other day I finally got around to taking off the rubber grommet for the clutch inspection and I found some purple goodness! Anyways I just wanted some quick questions answered.

Things I'm aware of...
-Slight noise from the clutch
-Clutch Fork stop I should buy.

Things I'm concerned of...

-After I let the car warm up or just turn it off to run in the store or something, first gear will be hard to get into. I go first and then reverse and then as soon as I get going everything's fine.
*Note: I've adjusted the clutch pedal because the previous owner had it so low to the floor and I know overtime that will cause the pressure plate and clutch to have premature wear.

-If I try to take off at 900-1000 RPMS i get a nasty bog, are these clutches meant to be ridden? In order for me to take off smooth I have to rev/blip the throttle to about 1200 RPMs and everything's all good.

Thanks guys!

this clutch has a lightweight flywheel so you would need to rev it up higher to take off. so that is normal.

slight noise is normal. my first exedy twin didnt make a sound, but my new one sounds like a dying goat so i guess it all depends on the individual clutch. the gear lock may turn into a more serious problem in the future, but adjusting the clutch pedal like you did will make shifting much smoother

Trevor at Sheptrans explained it to me like this after I brought a few things up about people complaining about lockout and other Exedy twin problems, clutch drag is what kills these clutches with ease.

Jack the car up so all the tires are off the ground, push the clutch all the way in: the tires should not be spinning.

Next, 2step the car while still in the air, if the tires begin spinning with the clutch pedal completely depressed to the floor, there is drag on the clutch which means its basically not fully disengaged.

Thats a good starting point to tell if your clutch is adjusted properly.
