Oh, she's tuned bro. Numbers are in my sig. Can't turn up the boost much more right now, until i get new I/C pipes, new clutch and some other stuff i need. It should hit 550whp on pump gas with ease. Since i'm the tuner, this car is in a constant state of tune...but i'm really happy with the results i'm having right now. I'm perfectly tuned from 20-27psi and everywhere in between. I'm making great power on a non-ported FP Black, stock I/C piping, stock, non-ported manifolds.

I say go BLACK and never look back. The Black is a beast. Great turbo man. FP knows what they're doing.

Lemme know, i'll take you for a ride in it. If you want a ride in a fast Red setup, Fast_Freddie is the guy to talk to too.

What kind of clutch do you have right now with this set-up?

A stock clutch with 65k hard miles on it. HAHAHA. It held 500whp two nights ago, just fine. I'm just taking it easy on it, until i have a new clutch ready to go in when i destroy the stocker. I can't believe it's lasted this long, to be honest.

Damn... Lol lucky you. I'm hesitant about spending 2k on a turbo when it means spending another 1500 on a clutch to hold the power. I have a similar set up to you though so these numbers are tempting, especially since it's on a conservative tune.

Yeah, i've gotten very lucky with the stock clutch. I was gonna go with a twin-disk, like the Exedy HD twin or comp twin...but i've decided to go with a ACT single Extreme PP and 6 puck sprung with the Pro-Lite flywheel. I've had a lot of good luck with ACT for single clutch setups. If i can make the stocker last this long, i think i'll be OK with the ACT.

Regarding my setup, it's a pretty simple setup honestly. Nothing too crazy, just what's needed to make good power, plus a perfect tune = reliable/safe power. I'm a very conservative tuner, it's what i was always known for when i did it as a job. My AFRs are 11.5:1@ peak VE tapering to 11.0:1 after 6,000 rpm in cooler weather. With ultra high IAT's (summer heat) i'm running 11.3:1at peak VE tapering to 10.9:1 after 6000rpms. Also, i won't rev higher than 7600rpms on the stock bottom end, as i firmly believe that high RPMs kill engines with a Rod/Stroke Ratio that's non-conducive to high RPMs, such as the stock bottom end. As for ignition timing, i prefer to tune just south(-1-2*) of MBT. I will always leave some power on the table for a given boost pressure.

The few WHP you gain from leaning AFRs don't outweigh the reliability and safety margin of running a slightly richer AFR, within reason of course. Also, running 1-2* less ignition than MBT increases reliability even more, due to lower cylinder pressures at a given boost level. It's always better to leave a little power, trust me. My setup can make 500whp on 27psi, i know, because i did it with AFR's at 11.8:1 @ peak VE tapering down to 11.4:1 after 6000rpm. I've found that best torque drops significantly once you go richer than 10.8:1. Anything richer than that AFR and you're wasting fuel and can possibly cause knock if allowed to go too rich, not to mention all kinds of other issues.

Wow, so that was probably a lot more info than you needed. :0

Not yet. Waiting to get a new manifolds, new clutch, new piping and new TB before i really turn up the boost. Once i get my setup performing at it's best safe level, i will post up some graphs. It's a beast now.....so much fun. Can't wait to make to get torque up into the 420wtq range. Whatever power numbers i make with 420wtq, i'll be happy. I'm thinking around 550whp/420wtq dynojet numbers.

Honestly if you expect to make over 500hp you are going to have to keep your tq low. You should look into the Magnus v5. I gained 50hp on my Red and it helps keep tq lower so you can make more power on the stock block

I will limit my torque to 420wtq, as i stated in my earlier post. I'm not really too concerned with peak numbers, although i know i can make over 500whp and less than 400wtq, because i have already done it.

The Magnus V5 intake manifold is exactly what i plan on running. With the Black, i'm already going to make more peak power with a lower peak torque number, which is why i choose this turbo over the Red. I'm still on the stock bottom end.

As for TB, i'm planning on the Boomba 75mm in red son!

Ya I ran 540hp/435tq stock block on my FP Red on Meth and E85 for over a year and never had a problem.

Was, a blast to drive... I'm build a 2.4L with FP Black. Should hit the dyno in a few weeks. That will be a blast to drive!
