Do you think it could be the emission valve solenoid where the two hoses connect to ?

hey man.. im not really sure to be honest i have been hearing a hissing noise around the intake and iv looked at them so many times and i thought f#$k it ill change them.. i sprayed the vavle thing with crc air flow cleaner as its ok for electrical stuff. but the cars still doing strange ****. like i started it the other day and it was idling like normal for its warm up then it nearly stalled and then went back to normal??!!?? very strange. change the hoses and the one to the air intake like in photo and see if makes a difference if not where both still in same boat lol

I'm thinking of buying that emission valve the two hoses connect to. But how does your car drive? it drives normal/good right? Your prob is just the idle vacuum?

170 kw atw sounds pretty good for a standard EVO 4. Keep in mind an EVO 4 is 206 kw at the flywheel, after 15 years it will drop gradually. 170 atw sounds like it's in really good condition, power wise.

yea was dyno'd in october last year. the owner before was trying to spin me **** like its has over sized pistons what not the usual. mine seems to use a **** load of fuel all so i can go though nearly a hole quarter of fuel on a 15km trip when 98 is around 2.26 a ltr!!

60km a tank? You should be able to get further than that on a track even. That kinda makes me think that it could be a fuel issue. Running far too rich maybe? Does your car backfire a lot? Or get fuel coming out the exhaust?

i think i can get around 200kms a tank there about and that's not trashing it . and it does back fire when i slow change between 3rd and 4th not real loud just a slight pop. has watery **** coming out my exhaust dosent smell like fuel. check my other posts i put a video up i think if not heres a link to my air flow problem.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOFNy...el_video_title

how often does the liquid come out the exhaust? Consistently or just on cold start ups etc?

200 Km a tank is about 125 miles per tank. unless the Evo 4 has an 8 gallon tank, then something sounds badly wrong, Possibly an injector stuck open? How's the initial start-up (IE first time out of the garage after a day or so)

im pretty sure its all the time even after a hard run.. and first start it sounds good nice strong idle then after about 30 seconds it starts getting bumpy and poping and farting.

ok so i have just made a new video of it after a run to town and back around 30kms normal driving and there's no **** coming out exhaust now. only when cold.

You could be running rich, and you might not be burning all the fuel in the cylinder and unburnt fuel could be leaving the cylinder and combusting in the exhaust. That could be causing your bad idle and backfiring. As for the liquid, it could just be water from the combustion condensing from flowing through your cold exhaust.

If you haven't already, upgrade to EVO 7+ ecu and get it tuned and get the injectors inspected.

Note: I'm not a mechanic or expert, I could be way off.
