Okay today i put a maf adaptor and a K&N cone filter on my car.. took it down the road and it stumbles and 3k rpm and falls on its face... looked at all vaccum lines and their good... threw a P0234 code... Put my stock air box back on and now its fine? i have an 03 evo 8

Its an overboost code meaning you were are higher load than the computer expected and you hit essentially fuel cut. This kind of thing is easily tuned out, if the load jump is that bad I would think the K&N filter is making the computer think its seeing a lot more air than is normal.

Get it tuned or get something else that would mess with your sensor.

 

so is it too much air flow... Maybe just go with a K&N drop in?

 

I would if you are going with really light mods.

 

for now yeah i am... once i get the money im going with the injen charge/ intake kit
