Spark Plug Wires

I've noticed a decrease in boost and worse mileage. I also got a cel for misfire cyl 1 and then another on another day for misfire cyl 3. I believe that this means the wires are bad. Any thoughts? What brand of wires should I get? O.E.M. is a bit pricey but I tried a bosch set and they said it was for the 2.0l dohc turbo motor but were clearly for an OZ rally SOHC motor.

Any help is appreciated, and yes I "searched".

I had a misfire cyl 1 on my other vehicle, turned out I changed the plugs and that was what was throwing the code, Check your plugs first, that's probably what it is, when was the last time you changed them, and what kind and gap are you running?

I changed them 500 miles ago, I change them every 3000-6000 depending on how the car is acting and if I'm getting knock. I run ngk bpr7es and gapped to .30

I checked them they don't look fouled, and the car seems to be running a bit rich.

Try closing the gap a little more.

What kind of mods do you have?

When a plug wire goes bad, the running goes from good to very bad and it does it like throwing a switch.

I run .026 gap on the same plugs, chance them at every oil change. I've got a set of stock coils if you need them let me know I kinda live close by.

Honestly, it's probably your plugs. May i strongly suggest running the NGK Iridium IX plugs(BPR7EIX) and gap them as wide as you can without misfires. If you prefer to run a slightly cooler plug, go with the BPR8EIX instead or the non-protruded BR7EIX(which would be a half step cooler than stock) plug.

If you find that you need new plug wires or new coils, i suggest ditching the stock setup and going with a COP setup.

So I did wires and it has seemed to smooth out, but there also may be a boost leak for the boost spike/drop off.

Im gonna say you have a boost leak. Sense you said its holding less boost and its running rich. Might of had boost spike which caused the miss fires.

What wires did you end up going with? I'm going to do wires / plugs in the coming weeks and i've been doing some research. I have full bot ons.. alot of debate on plugs.

Also anyone else recommend any particular wires?

There really is no debate on plugs, use the plugs i posted earlier for best results.

As for wires, i would think that OEM would be sufficient, if you have no plans on up grading to a COP system.

Which one of those would you suggest for my setup? I'd prefer not to have to mess with gapping iridium plugs if possible.

Also, in the future I might and probably will go bigger and badder, and since OEM wires are already expensive I might as well do it right the first time. I had good success with magnecor wires in other applications, but each platform is different.
