Thanks for the tip on the ECU tuning by Chris. I kno the previous owner had flash done by a place I think in Ca. called WORKS if I remember right. My mechanic here said they would have put a lock on it after that so does this mean I have to send it to them to at least remove the lock or how does that work?

Oh and thats kind of wat I thought about the shortblock route too..... That it would be better to put rods and pistons in and go. He even said that the cylinder walls look good still. I'll talk to him again about that. Maybe he is thinking after labor and everthing it'll come out the same anyways I'm not sure
