evo ix drain plug stripped oil pan question
ok my evo's drain plug is stripped just had some quick questions. do i have to change the return tube gasket or the tube itself when replacing the oil pan? should i add some silicone to the new return tube gasket? does the starter and crossmember all have to be removed to get the pan out?

Lol haha guess it's really that common hear the Mitsubishi silicone isrhe only one I should use. Cause I work at Nissan and Honda and the hondabond is really good but i guess I should just use the Mitsubishi brand?
when i had to replace my oil pan cuz a cheap downpipe rubbed its way in. i just bought a pan. there is no gasket on the pan, its mitsu silicone that seals it to the block. i bought a new return tube gasket. i hate the oem return tube though. anyways becarefull not to over tighten the bolts when re installing the pan. if you could do what the other guy said pull the pan then get it fixed. good luck
They are notorious for leaking because people never notice that the washer behind those two ten mm bolts have rubber on them to seal the threads. When you use diff bolts or incorrect washers it will still leak, even if you use a new gasket. I use Indian head from permatex that stuff works amazing
. Its easier then teflon because you can't wind it the wrong way.
