Reverse light switch on Tranny

I was just wondering if what the installation difficulty and cost of the reverse light switch on the tranny. I checked the fuse and bulbs and I'm left with the switch. Please tell me it is not some little part that mitsu is going to try to sell me for like 100$. Thank you in advance.

I replaced mine about 5 months ago. Mine was hard to find (MR) but they are available here http://www.mitsubishicyberstore.com/...36crw?30cfcd00
put in your car info and then go to the subcategories.
under subcategory: ELECTRICAL > CHASSIS ELECTRICAL > SWITCHES > BACKUP SWITCH..then 5 or 6 speed. 20 bucks.
Very easy to replaces, pull out the battery, battery mounting bracket, unplug the switch, unscrew the backup switch (it is located on top of the tranny) I believe non MR are black plastic and MR are blue. follow steps in reverse to install.

before you goto the trouble of buying a switch that may not fix your problem.... unplug the switch and jump the terminals, if the lights light... youve got a bad switch. make sure the key is on. if they dont light, you have another issue.
