Tap for reverse sensor...

My Pioneer HU has a reverse camera feature, with auto switch when you put the car in reverse..

The instructions:

Violet/white
Of the two lead wires connected to the back lamp, connect the one in which the voltage changes when the gear shift is in the REVERSE (R) position. This connection enables the unit to sense whether the car is moving forwards or backwards.

OK, so the lead wires are the positive and negative for the reverse light?

yea no yea?

thanks.

not that anyone was following this thread, but i tested the connections and the reverse light is in fact the correct instrument to tap into. there is a positive and negative lead from the reverse light. the positive is red/blue.

now all i need is my camera (in the mail!) and a video cable!
