I was able to get it on like I posted earlier... I had lubed the input shaft and dowel pins, it slid right on!

I'm sure it's been posted, but don't use the bolts to make the tranny mount up to the block. If it isn't sliding on, something must be slightly off. Pull the tranny back out, make sure the clutch disc etc is lined up properly, then try to reinstall again. Good luck.

pulling the intake manifold can make a world of difference as far as getting to the rear mount. More work but i can get the trans back in within 2-3 hours. Except the Tilton clutches make a world of difference because they use a solid hub so the shaft slides into one peice instead of lining up each disc.

Also if your using an engine lift, there is a hole on the shift linkage bracket where the you can put a quick link and a chain. Makes a HUGE Difference as its a balance point so the trans sits pretty level.
