The only kit that I am aware of that mounts a 30R to the stock manifold does so by using a very restrictive turbine housing. I would advise against going with the 30R's all together and instead choosing from the many turbos available that use the stock turbo housings but reconfigure it internally with larger turbine and compressor wheels. Many of these stock appearing turbos flow much higher than the 30R's, they most all spool much better and bolt right up to the stock manifold. a brief list would include:

CBRD BBK Full
Forced Performance HTA Green, FP Red, or FP Black turbos

I have a HTA3076R - love it, spools fast and pulls hard.

A 3076 kit is nice.. I personally didn't like the 3071 kitted cars that I was familiar with. The 3071 offered too slow of spool and not enough compressor flow to warrant the purchase price of a kit for me and the installation labor as well. What housing do you have on your 3076?

The FP Red will make a bit more power than the 3076... It is funny since they are almost the same but the Red seems to always make more power. Maybe because of the larger turbine wheel... Anyway... The Red is a great turbo and is capable of 600hp on a built motor and the FP Black is capable of 600hp on the stock motor. Not sure if your motor is built or not.

I agree with Mikey in that the Forced Performance Red turbo is probably one of your best options. This turbo flows a bit more air than the 3076 and should spoolup faster as well. It will bolt directly to your factory exhaust manifold and downpipe. Thus, there is no need to purchase an entire "kit" to install this turbo(no header, no external wastegate, no special turbo elbow, or downpipe and all factory oil and water lines are retained as well). Why look for trouble? Keep everything simple.

I think that there is a licensed vendor in Britain for the Forced Performance line of turbochargers. Get his number and give him a call.

The guy in Britain can also DBB the FP Turbos, has done a few for Robert... I'm not sure anyone knew that. However, you don't gain any HP from doing that. All you should expect to see is the longevity of your turbo will prob increase.

Mikester: With the DBB cartridge you'll also see about a 400 RPM reduction in spooltime! But, you are correct....no peak power increase.

Spark, see I would have thought the same thing but Robert at FP said that it didn't make a difference is spool... They did a back to back test. Why it doesn't improve spool on the stock turbos I can't tell. Robert was not sure why either, but it didn't.

Any of the FP turbos are going to be better options for simplicity, performance and reliability. I personally love my FP Black. It spools very fast for it's size (full boost around 3800-4,000rpm) and performs flawlessly on the stock bottom end. I'm only running mine at 24 psi until i can get a new FMIC installed and new clutch. Numbers in my sig are decent for boost pressure being run on the stock FMIC and piping and unported stock exhaust manifold.

The FP Red and Green HTA73 are also great options, depending on what you're looking for with your setup.
