What clutch for my use, and what shop in the U.P.?

My clutch is going out. I am looking for a clutch that will support about 400whp and I want it to last a long time. Some clutches have short life. Id like one thats going to last a bit longer and will not die under occasional hard launches and what not.

So good street clutches/long life/can handle some hard launches and not glaze over or burn up..

whats the point of different clutches haveing just 4 or 6 puck or just the entire radius with pad material?

oh yeah - and anyone know of anyshops in the U.P. michigan or near here that has experience with Evo clutches?

Rather than listing the HP of your vehicle, please list the current TQ.

Are you planning any further upgrades or are you going to be staying at this power/TQ level?

More info will help in making good suggestions (rather than just copping out and saying that you should get an Exedy Twin).

Good luck.

f if i know. Its stock with intake, an exhaust cutout and no cat, catback exhaust, and a tune soon. But when I am done tuning and with replaced ic and piping i hope to be between 300 and 400whp on 93oct (i might have my meth injection by then). (probably not much less torque.)

Anyway what clutches does everyone use and whats your specs and mods..

check around on the sites selling them or with the dealers directly. im running 350HP and roughly 320TQ so i only need an exeddy stage 1. where as if i had 350TQ (dont quote me on this, im not sure) i would have to upgrade into a stage 2.

you switching out your flywheel as well?

check out STIKiller.com for a wicked deal. their shipping is terrible, but its a good price. ive been waiting about 3 weeks now

i see. how much did u pay for it? is it racing or street? sprung or unsprung? come with a flywheel? pucked or circle? why are they sometimes pucked??

i didnt want too pay for a flywheel but i probably will. I have heard the evo fly wheel is partially responsible for annhilating evo clutches and whatnot.

Go with act 6 puck with springs and act streetlight flywheel best setup for the money no lock out if installed and adjusted right. It also holds 640 tq the only thing that it grabs hard but its cool cause you can chrip 2nd and third gear..

why would you want a clutch that can handle twice as much tourque as your car?

i dont know, each stage of clutch has a tourque rating, the one i bought is good from 300-380 foot pounds of tourque i beleive. so i cant imagine a monsterous stage 5 clutch being appropriat for a stock car. is that okay?

sorry about spelling haha
